A derby that will bring back good memories for Luciano Vietto

The Argentine striker made his LaLiga debut against Levante UD, and he has beaten them on each of the three occasions he has faced them

The derby will be a special game for Valencia CF’s youth players, those who are used to playing against their local rivals from a young age. Players such as Jose Luis Gaya, Carlos Soler, Jaume, Toni Lato, Nacho Vidal and Ferran Torres have played a lot of derbies in their time, but Luciano Vietto is another who has fond memories of coming up against such opposition.

The current Valencia CF striker started his LaLiga journey back in August 2014. Marcelino was in charge when Vietto made his professional debut in Europe, and three days after the opportunity to play in the Europa League he was thrust into domestic action against Levante UD. Although he didn’t score on his league debut, he managed to hit the back of the net against Levante on his second attempt, and he will be looking to do the exact same for Valencia CF when he gets his first taste of the local rivalry on Sunday.

In the three games that Vietto has played against Levante UD, the Argentine has won each of them. With Rodrigo struggling due to injury, Marcelino has three strikers at his disposal in LaLiga, with Valencia CF targeting three points to get themselves back on track after a poor run.
