Mestalla enjoys some magic from Carlos Soler and Guedes once again

Valencia CF looked strong again with the dynamic duo back on the wings

Goncalo Guedes’ name rang out at Mestalla once again as Sunday evening’s derby clash with Levante UD drew to a close, with Valencia CF two goals to the good. The home fans showed their appreciation after another bursting run from the Portuguese, with Carlos Soler also shining on a exciting evening. Both players work for the collective, as well as showing their own individual talents, and such a mindset looks to be the best way for Marcelino’s men to hit their targets in LaLiga this season.

Guedes and Carlos Soler haven’t both been able to start a game together since November 26th, but the dynamic duo returned in a midfield four versus Levante UD. Both looked to drive and be vertical in possession, with their marauding gallivants upfield the quickest way for Valencia CF to do their opponents harm. With the pair in the starting lineup together, Marcelino’s side have won eight games and drawn one, with the latter coming in an excellent 1-1 with FC Barcelona at Mestalla.

When fit, both players can make the difference in tight games, as they offer the team an extra bit of something to tip the balance. Carlos Soler was vital versus Levante UD, after his spectacular run in the lead-up to the second goal helped to give Santi Mina and Luciano Vietto their bites at the cherry. Guedes got the fans on their feet himself too, with his haring runs upfield causing the opposition all kinds of problems. With Guedes and Carlos Soler back in the team, Valencia CF were back to their best and secured a huge three points for themselves.
