13 of VCF’s goals in LaLiga this season have come after the 76th minute
Marcelino has helped this Valencia CF squad to not give up until the very end, with their attitude and mentality helping them to important goals and vital points such as the victory against Malaga CF on Saturday evening. Francis Coquelin and Dani Parejo grabbed the goals at La Rosaleda, but this isn’t a one-off: 27% of our goals in LaLiga have come after the 76th minute in games.
Dani Parejo said after the full-time whistle that “you have to fight until the very last moment,” with the fans identifying with the fact that their team battle and show determination until the referee calls time on proceedings. Valencia CF have taken six points in the dying moments of game, which has helped them hang onto third place in the table for many weeks. It isn’t only mental, however, with the squad also needing to be in top physical condition to keep plugging away.
Dani Parejo and Santi Mina have got three goals apiece after the 76th-minute mark, with Simone Zaza next in line with two. Geoffrey Kondogbia, Rodrigo Moreno, Andreas Pereira and Francis Coquelin have contributed the rest. Those goalscorers have contributed 13 goals to the cause in the late stages of LaLiga contests, with Marcelino’s men knowing that there is always hope until the referee puts the whistle to his lips.
