No club has managed more goals from headed finishes than VCF
Marcelino’s men have been posting up some fantastic statistics this campaign, with the latest in a long line of positives being how much of a threat Valencia CF have been in the air. Thus far in LaLiga, 12 headed goals have made their way into the back of the net from a VCF head, with only Real Betis able to match such a stat. Last weekend at La Rosaleda, Francis Coquelin headed finish ensured that Valencia CF continued to excel aerially.
Rodrigo Moreno and Santi Mina are the two players to have scored most with their heads, with four apiece, while Simone Zaza has popped up with two. Geoffrey Kondogbia and Francis Coquelin have netted one each, with six of the total coming from corner deliveries due to Dani Parejo’s expertise from dead balls.
A quarter of Valencia CF’s goals have come as a result of headers this season, with their efforts at the club’s Paterna training complex paying off as the team get into the business end of the season where being a threat from set pieces and crosses could be a big help in getting over the finish line and staying in the top four.
