Neto Murara is experiencing his first season as a Valencia CF player, and since his arrival from Juventus the fans have taken to him immediately. The Brazilian goalkeeper is looking to do big things with the club and has told Fox Sports about the great strides they are making despite bringing in a lot of new players in a difficult league.
How has Valencia CF’s season balanced out?
“It is normal that when you’re in a very competitive league like the one in Spain, it is very difficult to always get good results. It’s normal that sometimes we go through tough periods. The most important thing is to find the balance and to keep working as we have done all season.”
What is the aim?
“Valencia CF have made a lot of changes this season, it is a new squad that has to start from zero against others that have been together for a lot of years and have played a lot with one another. Without doubt, we are having a brilliant campaign and we are in a very good position in the table.”
He is one of those waiting to get a chance at the World Cup in Russia…
“I am very prepared, but my first aim is to do a good job for Valencia CF and to remain calm, this is key for our games. I don’t want to be worried about achieving it, but instead I see it as motivation. I hope that the opportunity presents itself for me to be able to be there.”
Are there many differences between Italian and Spanish football?
“The speed of the game is different here, in Italy it is a very tactical game. Here, there’s a lot of positivity involved, everyone wants to attack and they play games at a quicker pace. You don’t know how the game will go and this is very interesting because it helps you to improve your game.”
