The player visits the workshop of the artista Manolo Algarra, where he learnt about the creative process
Jeison Murillo is only lacking a call-up with the Colombian national team to complete the dream start to his Valencia CF career. With him on the pitch, the team don’t lose, his run is already up to 13 games, and he feels totally integrated in the city. With VCFplay, Murillo became a Fallas artista for the day, visiting the workshop of the artist Manolo Algarra.
There he saw at first hand the creative process of making the Fallas sculptures. Murillo didn’t hesitate to pick up a brush and get involved in finishing one of the models of the “Maestro Gozalbo-Conde Altea”, a unique experience just like the one he’s having at Mestalla.
The coaches are very happy with his performance, like the rest of his teammates, and the Colombian defender appears near the top of the list in terms of defensive statistics, being the player with third-most blocks, aerial duels and clearances. In seven of his 13 LaLiga games, Valencia CF have kept a clean sheet.
His personality on the pitch is contagious, making him a leader at the back. After learning about the creative process of Las Fallas, who knows if he won’t become an artist in the future? As he says himself – “I got a 10 in Art”!
