High standards are fundamental to remain in the top four, and the dressing room knows the importance of Saturday’s game at Mestalla
Since the arrival of Marcelino, the team has trained every day as if it were a cup final. The players give their all in every exercise, those who play more and those who play less, and this path has led them to the upper reaches of LaLiga. Now they have to prepare themselves for the next battle, against Deportivo Alavés, a tough opponent despite how the table looks, seeing as they’ve pushed FC Barcelona all the way at Camp Nou and beat Villarreal CF in their own stadium.
There’s no time to lose, with a lot at stake on Saturday at Mestalla, and the coaching staff prepared a tactical session. Initially the squad was divided into two groups, practising attacking transitions. Then the squad joined together, working at high intensity. With the absence of Gayà, Kondogbia and Santi Mina, the team looked hungry to get all three points against Alavés.
Despite the win against Sevilla FC, the dressing room is aware that the road to Champions League qualification goes through Mestalla, where they will give their all this Saturday with the help of the fans, to get a crucial win. The squad are fully focused on the game, to head into the international break with another win.
