The Brazilian has played 90 minutes during the last nine consecutive games and has already been through more minutes than during two seasons at Arsenal FC
Gabriel Paulista is one of the more experienced figures in the Valencia CF dressing room, a player who leads by example. When Marcelino spoke with him in the recent LaLiga clash against Sevilla, looking for someone to fill in at right back, he showed his willingness to dig in for the team no matter where he finds himself deployed. When Gabriel signed for the club in the summer, he was well aware of the challenge he would face, but the Brazilian defender is enjoying working each day and finds himself well on his way to completing his best season yet on European soil.
There is no other way that Gabriel works. The Valencia CF central defender is all about putting the effort in and staying on the right path. Even when the going gets tough, the Brazilian shared some words of inspiration on social media: “Don’t give up on your dreams! Be unbeatable to those who aren’t on your side. Overcome obstacles by showing more resolve, be a brave warrior. When you think there is no escape, keep the faith in what you know.”
His work rate is seeing results this season, with Gabriel set to complete his most successful season yet since arriving on the continent in 2013. With Valencia CF this season, the Brazilian has racked up 2,517 minutes across 30 games. His best currently stands at 2,944 minutes across 37 matches during the 2014/15 campaign when he played for both Villarreal CF and Arsenal FC. Most recently, Gabriel has played the full 90 minutes in his last nine consecutive games, with the dream of the Champions League fuelling his fire.
