The squad works hard in training, aware that the game against Alavés is a key step on their path to the Champions League
The big news from today’s training session was the return of José Luis Gayà, who has recovered from the injury that prevented him taking part in the game at the Sánchez Pizjuán last Saturday. The left-back completed the session, and will be available for Marcelino for this weekend’s game against Deportivo Alavés.
In Wednesday’s session, the group worked on tactics, before ending with a small-size game, where the players gave everything, working at high intensity. With Saturday’s “final” in mind, the players know the path to return to the Champions League goes through Mestalla.
One of the objectives of this team is to get the fans onboard from the 1st minute of the game. Feeling the energy of Mestalla makes the players stronger, and makes it harder for the opponent. The connection with the fans, as Dani Parejo has admitted, means points. This Saturday they’ll play a “final” in the midst of the Fallas celebrations. The dressing room know the Mestalla crowd will play their part.
