José Luis Gayà is the latest player to feature on VCFradio, with the left back coming onto the show on the day that he was able to return to training after picking up an injury versus Sevilla FC at the Ramón Sánchez Pizjuán last weekend in LaLiga.
Valencia CF are looking secure in LaLiga’s top four…
“We have gone through some bad times, but we’ve overcome them and now the team is performing at a brilliant level and we are controlling games. We have competed in every single game and this has to be held in high regard because it isn’t always easy to do.”
Win or lose, the team always keeps going…
“We came into this season after two very poor seasons, the truth was that we had games where we didn’t compete, but now it is the complete opposite. We can win or lose, play well or badly, but this team always gives everything and that is down to Marcelino’s work.”
Are Valencia CF excited to return to the Champions League?
“It is exciting and who would have suggested it after such a bad two years. There is a lot of the league left to play, and we have to be conscious of that and keep fighting on. Hopefully, next year we can enjoy Champions League football at Mestalla.”
Nobody would have imagined the team in this position at the start of the campaign…
“It isn’t easy to change the feeling from the last two damaging years, but the team have taken on Marcelino’s ideas. Starting the league well gave us the confidence to continue.”
Do the players enjoy it out on the field, as it seems to be that way?
“Confidence is vital for players, we are all at the level where we are performing well, but we can’t relax. We will keep enjoying it and competing well.”
“This season has been very good, but when you don’t play well you have to work at it. I think that I’m looking good, I’m feeling good and with very clear ideas in place I hope to see performing like this until the end of the campaign. I am confident and I’m not going to switch off, we have 10 games left and I’m sure that I am going to give even more.”
