Javi Sanchis: “We're really excited to feature in the tournament in Singapore”

The VCF Academy U16s coach told VCF Radio he's excited about the prestigious JSSL Tournament

Javi Sanchis, U16s coach at the Valencia CF Academy, has been speaking about the JSSL International Tournament to VCF Radio. “Tomorrow we travel to Singapore to play an interesting tournament, with ten lads from the U16s and two from the U15s, where we’ll play against high level teams in an attractive tournament that is a real inspiration to these youngsters. As well as the responsibility of wearing the Valencia CF crest, we know that Singapore is an important place, where our owner lives and that gives us something extra to compete as much as we can".

“When we started the season we had the disadvantage of having players who were a year younger, they go from U14 to U15 level, and we started with a difficult fixture list, but we’re happy with the progression because the team is getting better and I take my hat off for the season they’re having. They are competing as if each game is their last, producing some great numbers and their morale is high with this tournament, I’m happy with the team’s trajectory”.

“We travel on Wednesday, I think we have a day to get used to the city and the tournament starts on Saturday, it’s a 7-a-side format and we’re looking forward to arriving and seeing the venue. The lads are young and they’ll acclimatize quickly and we’re excited. We’ll compete well and play our part in Singapore”.

In this prestigious tournament in Singapore, to be held from the 28th to the 30th of April, VCF U16s will face Bangkok United, Fulham FC, JSSL FC, Liverpool FC, Manchester United FC, Perth Glory FC and Urawa Red Diamonds.
