Valencia CF’s captain has only missed out on 23 league minutes due to a managerial decision
As long as Parejo continues at the same level that he is showing now and doesn’t have an injury problem, for me he’s the starting player in that position,” Marcelino explained ahead of Valencia CF’s game at the weekend versus SD Eibar. Dani Parejo has only missed 23 minutes of LaLiga action for technical reasons this campaign.
He is the most used player in his position when available. Although Parejo has missed three games due to suspension throughout the season, he has racked up 2,853 minutes. Only three other midfielders have managed more: Saúl (2,932), Illarramendi (2,893) and Rodri (2,868). Their coaches, however, have given them more rest.
Parejo has started in all of the 32 league games that he has been available for, with Marcelino only bringing him off against Málaga CF (5-0) and Deportivo Alavés (3-1). He also missed out on the last four minutes against Getafe CF recently, having been shown a red card. His excellent form this season has also seen him debut with the Spanish national team, but he will also want to secure Champions League football for Valencia CF before potentially going to the World Cup.
