Vietto’s wonder goal wrapped up the three points and took him to five for the season

The Argentine forward knows that the club need to be in the Champions League every year

Luciano Vietto rattled home his fifth goal in a Valencia CF shirt, since arriving at the club in January, with his fantastic strike from range enough to wrap up the three points for Marcelino’s side in style against Girona FC.

At the end of the game, the Argentine was very pleased to have helped the team take yet another victory in LaLiga: “On a personal note, recently I haven’t felt too confident, but to start again, score and help the team to win… I have to thank my teammates and the coaching staff for their confidence in me.” In the 791 minutes that he has played this campaign, he has scored five goals, with the five coming against Levante UD and UD Las Palmas in the Copa del Rey.

With this win, the team hits 70 points for the season: “the club has achieved something really important and they needed it. Valencia CF is a big club and they have to be in the Champions League each year. Marcelino didn’t doubt using Vietto in this game, as the forward was training well, and although it hasn’t been easy for him to come into the group in the middle of the campaign, nobody doubts his potential to impress for Valencia CF.
