Valencia CF have a 'No Entry' sign in goal

They have achieved 14 clean sheets this season, double the previous campaign

No Entry. That’s what Valencia CF’s two goalkeepers have achieved in 14 games this season, keeping a clean sheet, twice as many as the last campaign. Neto and Jaume are life insurance between the posts, as we saw against Girona FC, an example of what they’ve been doing all season.

Although his name wasn’t included in the Brazil national team squad to go to the World Cup, Neto’s season has been spectacular. That’s shown by the 112 saves he has made in LaLiga, only outdone by Pacheco (Deportivo Alavés) and ahead of Oblak (Atlético), and the 10 games in which he has kept clean sheets. Those interventions translate into points, and he has more clean sheets than in his last two seasons with Juventus.

When Marcelino has picked Jaume, there’s no drop in quality. Against Girona FC he looked unbeatable, dealing with any danger, and it was the fourth time out of 12 games played that he hasn’t conceded a goal. Whoever is in goal, Valencia CF have two reliable, top-quality keepers.
