Carlos Soler, a top-drawer reinforcement for Spain

The midfielder will train with the national team from 28th May – 5th June together with “the best players in the world”

It’s yet another acknowledgement of Carlos Soler’s potential. He’s been called up to “reinforce” the Spanish national team from 28th May to 5th June, in their preparation for the World Cup in Russia. It’s a reward for an excellent season, which is also reflected in his becoming a regular for the Under-21s. The number 18 will accompany Rodrigo and the others chosen, in a similar role to that played by José Luis Gayà in 2015. Now it’s the midfielder’s turn to learn from Iniesta, Silva and Isco, the latter two also products of the VCF Academy.

Having found out about his call-up, he spoke to VCFplay, saying he feels “excited to spend a few days with my national teammates, it’s my first time and I’m really happy and excited about these few days. I’ve been an Under-19 international, this season I’ve played six times with the Under-21s and being with my national teammates for a few days will be a great experience that I’ll enjoy a lot. These players are the best in the world and it will be really good for me”.

An excited Soler is counting down the hours to train with players like “Iniesta, who has now left Barça and I don’t know if he’ll then leave the national team, Silva, Isco… players I’ve watched on television and now I can train with them, it’s great. I’m just thinking about enjoying these days, having a good time with players of this level and whatever comes next, comes next”.
