Bayer Leverkusen will play in the 47th edition of the Orange Cup

Before that game at Mestalla, Valencia CF will travel to the United Kingdom to face Leicester City FC and Everton FC

In the preparation leading up to Valencia CF’s return to the Champions League, the club have arranged some interesting friendlies against some high-level opposition. The final game of the pre-season campaign will be against Bayer Leverkusen at Mestalla, in the 47th edition of the Orange Cup at Mestalla.

The German club finished in fifth place in the Bundesliga last season, with the same points as TSG Hoffenheim and Borussia Dortmund. Ahead of that fixture, Marcelino’s men will travel to England to face Premier League outfits Leicester City FC (August 1st) and Everton FC (August 4th).

Bayer won the UEFA Cup in 1988 and were Champions League runners up in 2002

Bayer Leverkusen is one of the biggest historical clubs in Germany, having previously won the UEFA Cup back in 1988, as well as featuring in the Champions League final back in the 2001/02 season. In domestic competition, Bayer have been runners up in the Bundesliga on five occasions, as well as winning a cup in 1992/93.

Leicester City FC were the last big surprise story in the Premier League

In the 2015/16 season, the English club won the Premier League against all odds with Claudio Ranieri at the helm, with Leicester City FC the huge underdog story in the English top flight. Further back in history, the club have lifted three League Cups and a Community Shield.

Everton FC are the club to have played the most games in the English top flight

On August 4th, Marcelino’s side will play against one of English football’s most historic sides in Liverpool. Everton FC are the club to have featured in the most top-flight domestic fixtures in Britain. In 1985, the club won the European Super Cup, with Everton FC also winning five FA Cups and nine Community Shields.
