Rodrigo started for Spain in their win against Tunisia (1-0)

The VCF striker couldn’t find the back of the net against a packed opposition defence

La Roja’s friendly matches ahead of the World Cup have already come to an end, with Rodrigo getting the chance to start on Saturday evening versus Tunisia (1-0).

Despite Spain having the majority of the possession, they found it tough to break down a resilient Tunisia defence. Rodrigo lead the line and always looked for pockets of space in which to receive the ball, but it wasn’t an easy task against an organised defence.

Rodrigo combined on several occasions with both Andres Iniesta and David Silva, but chances to shoot from were scarce. Before he was replaced by Diego Costa at the hour mark, Rodrigo didn’t have any big chances, aside from one headed effort after a cross from Alvaro Odriozola which didn’t go on target. Iago Aspas broke the deadlock in the 84th minute to give Spain the win.
