The players that helped us return to the Champions League: Ferran Torres

Ferran Torres broke into the first team at just 17 years of age

Ferran Torres is a very direct, powerful and technical player with a promising future ahead of him. This season he has shown what he is capable of doing. There are not many players that have made their first team debut before turning 18.

Ferran Torres made his home debut in the Copa del Rey against Zaragoza and away at SD Eibar. Ferran has bags of potential. The homegrown player from Foios has featured in a total of 16 games, 13 in LaLiga.

Torres broke into the first team with the number 20 on his back. He made his first Valencia CF start on his 18th birthday away at Athletic Club. Ferran grabbed the game by the scruff of the neck by giving a goalscoring assist to Kondogbia.

A few weeks later he put pen to paper on his contract extension at Valencia CF. "It's wonderful, I’m really proud, it’s the club I’ve been at since I was seven, fighting for all my life. I wasn’t expecting it and now it is time for me to repay that confidence on the pitch" he said. He has also played for Spain at different levels up to becoming a regular for Spain U19s, a European champion, and World Cup runner-up as an U17.

The European top flight, Champions League football, is what lies ahead for Ferran Torres next season, and he will take another huge step forward in his footballing career at his boyhood club.
