Goalless draw between VCF and Lausanne (0-0)

July, 24 2018 -

Cristiano Piccini and Kangin Lee made their respective debuts

Marcelino’s side were chasing back-to-back pre-season wins against Lausanne.  It was Valencia CF’s second friendly at last season’s summer tournament, the Festival del Football des Alpes at 6.30 pm kick-off time at the Christ Roi.

Marcelino’s side were off to a great start in the opening minutes playing their typical possession football and looking to hit on the break. Kangin Lee replaced Jordi Escobar 23 minutes, which saw him make his first-team debut.

Aforementioned Kangin Lee enjoyed Valencia CF’s most meaningful chance on the stroke of half time. The first half finished goalless at the break with all to play for in the second half.

Marcelino shuffled the pack in the second half trying to open the scoring. Simone Zaza and Ferran Torres linked-up nicely but the latter could not quite meet it. The game got tighter and sloppier.

Neither side were able to open the scoring and the official drew the game to a close.
