Match Report VCF sign off in UCL with a win (2-1)

Valencia CF played versus Manchester United on matchday 6 of the UEFA Champions League at 21:00 kick-off time with Valencia CF looking to get a win in their last group stage game in front of their home fans.

Valencia CF had bright start looking to score there was a great combination between Piccini and Santi Mina who put it in but it got beyond Michy Batsuayi. Valencia CF were knocking the ball around nicely and looking to hit on the break.

Carlos Soler gave Valencia CF the lead after a great piece of play between Piccini and Santi Mina which was completed by Carlos Soler with the tidiest of finishes with the outside of his left foot.

Juan Mata went close for Manchester United as we approached the half-hour mark, with his shot hitting Mouctar Diakhaby. Valencia CF had to great chances with Michy Batsuhayi missing it with his shoulder and then Diakhaby who could not push it in.

Paul Pogba had the first chance for Manchester United missing from inside the box but he was flagged up for offside. The first half finished 1-0 for Valencia CF at half-time in Mestalla thanks to a goal by Soler.

Phil Jones made 2-0 after putting the ball into his own net after misjudging a great through ball from Carlos Soler. Jose Mourinho introduced Marcus Rashford for Fred and Lukaku for Lingard as Marcelino  García Toral introduced Toni Lato for Ezequiel  Garay, Ferran Torres for Cheryshev and Santi Mina for Rodrigo Moreno.

Chances for Valencia CF were few and far between with Manchester United having two shots from former Valencia CF player Andreas Pereira and Phil Jones, one parried away by Jaume and the other going wide.

Manchester United made it 1-2 late with Marcus Rashford heading it in late on in the match and Juan Mata came close to make it 2-2, but the match finished 1-2 for Valencia CF who will drop out to the UEFA Europa League as one of the top-seeded teams.
