Marcelino shows that all players are important in such demanding season
This Sunday is a clear example of putting his football ideas into practice on the pitch and he lined up six different players of the eleven that debuted on Wednesday in the Champions League.
The black and white coach started Piccini for Vezo on the right side, Diakhaby for Murillo in the center of the back, Ferran Torres for Wass and Cheryshev for Guedes in midfield, which led to Carlos Soler to move from the right to midfield with Parejo, and changed the two strikers in who played in Europe, Rodrigo and Batshuayi for Santi Mina and Gameiro. Of all of them Piccini, Parejo, Paulista and Gayà have been indisputable starters in the four previous matches of LaLiga. The rest, up to 18 players, have already debuted this season in the championship.
After Parejo was expelled Valencia CF did not give up
After the break Jaime Latre was the sad protagonist of the derby by unfairly expelling Parejo after a struggle for a ball in the center of the field. The decision forced Valencia CF to move pieces and try to hold the score with one less with many minutes still ahead.
The team did not collapse and a low kick from Guedes from outside the area was cleared with by goalkeeper Sergio Asenjo. In the minute 82 Cheryshev tried a left-footed shot that, again, Asenjo deflected to corner kick. Valencia CF played better these minutes and did not give up at all. It did not look like the team was down to ten in the field. They fought like brave men and added a very valuable point, above all, due to the unfair expulsion of Parejo that conditioned Marcelino's team.
