Collaborate on the VCF Foundation's Christmas campaign
‘Métele un gol a la pobreza’ (‘Score a goal against poverty’) is the Valencia CF Foundation’s traditional Christmas toy collection campaign, now in its 14th edition. This year, the aim for the initiative is to exceed the 18,000 toys collected in 2017.
The toys donated in 2018 will go to children supported by the following associations: Deporte por Educación Nazaret, Barrio La Torre, Mamás en Acción, Arca de Noé and Apoyo al Acogimiento en Familia Extensa y Allegada.
The campaign also habitually provides educational workshops for all children who come to the activities tent alongside Valencia’s Mercado de Colón market. Opening hours are: December 27th and 28th, from 11am to 2pm and 5pm to 8pm; December 29th, from 11am to 2pm. New and second-hand toys (in good condition) may be left at the tent, and also at the Plaza Interior of Nuevo Centro until the 23rd.
‘Métele un gol a la pobreza’ is organised by the VCF Foundation, the Ajuntament de València, the Instituto Valenciano de Pedagogía Creativa-MSM, Nuevo Centro, El Corte Inglés and Obra Social “la Caixa”.
Attending the presentation event were former Valencia CF player Ricardo Arias, and VCF Femenino players Mónica Flores and Zenatha Coleman.
