The former VCF striker is days away from his move to Japan
David Villa is one of Valencia CF’ greatest ever strikers, and he is taking his talents to Japan for a new chapter in his career, after time in Spain, Australia and the USA.
Ahead of his trip to Asia to play for Vissel Kobe –where he will join up with fellow LaLiga legend Andrés Iniesta- Villa has been spending a few days in his homeland. Still a keen follower of Valencia CF’s activities, he gave his opinion on the season so far.
“I’m very fond of the Valencia CF fans, the club and Marcelino; I’m sure that they are going to place high up in LaLiga,” said ‘El Guaje’, who played for VCF from 2006 until 2010.
“The season has been made difficult by the way it began, but I have the utmost confidence in Marcelino. I know him and, as both a person and as a coach, he is capable of turning the situation around. We have to believe that the team can do it; above all in LaLiga, and then they can think about the Europa League.”
