Soler and Lato were present at a regional gala on Monday night
Carlos Soler and Toni Lato, two homegrown talents now plying their trade for the Valencia CF first team, attended the Valencian Football Federation's gala night on Monday.
The pair watched as VCF Academy players Emilio Bernad, Pascu Alba, Xavi Estació, Jordi Escobar and José David Menargues received a special plaque for their contributions to the Spanish national team, and also took time out to preview the upcoming Europa League game against Celtic.
"I remember that we both played at Celtic Park in the UEFA Youth League three years ago, and now we are going to do so again in the Europa League," recalled Soler. "We are very excited about European competition, the Copa del Rey and LaLiga, in which we are doing better now and moving upwards."
"The fans are always there, supporting us, and we're grateful for that. Valencia CF fans are unique and incredible," commented Lato, with a sentiment echoed by Soler: "The fans like the team to fight for everything. We are in three competitions and the aim is to continue climbing up the LaLiga table. We're one game away from playing in the Copa del Rey final and in the Europa League we will try and get as far as possible."
Lato added that "The start of the season wasn't easy, but we've changed the dynamic and we're proud. We've got a long way to go, we're going to take things game by game and the aim is to beat Celtic on Thursday."
